Agents of the Past The agency of Dobres and Robb in archaeology is the first critical
glance with the way in which the archaeologists employ and define the
concept of the agency. This published volume introduced into the
hearth some of the advantages as well as some of the traps to use a
framework of agency. The writers do not offer any definition specifies
of agency, instead of that, they present a bottom on theoretical work
influencing the concept of the agency and the series of contributions
by various authors on the use and the idea of the agency. What I
appreciated the majority about volume is the diversity of the
contributions. The writers did a great work in the authors of choice
with various interests. We see how the archaeologists working in the
old men and new worlds employed the agency like manner of describing
the past. Contributions are also changed in the periods of time and
the types of examined companies. Some of the studies examine
hunter-pick-ups while others concentrate on the foundation of the
prehistoric states like those found in Mexico. In a general way this
book is important for the two archaeologists who use a framework of
agency and those which find it problematic. Not only this book gives
it the first clear glance to the agency like concept, but it also
examines such as where adjustments of agency for other theoretical
concepts: thought of feminism, processual, and of post-processual. In
conclusion, I would recommend this book to all the serious students of
archaeology, particularly those interested in the archaeological
theory and what constitutes archaeological knowledge.
