I started reading Unthinking Eurocentrism one night and couldn't sleep until I had finished it. Shohat and Stam's briliantly written, often witty, book is an intellectual page turner. I plan to read it again.


A Majestic, empowering work
Like social student of science, I have found this inestimabile book in the relative exposure incisive of Eurocentrism. The authors deal the object in a mature way and offer an alternative, that of decentering the argument and to render it fine-fines-centric rather than euro-centric. This sensitive book is written and it does not offend European, but it tries to reveal the hidden senses in which manifest Eurocentrism. I have perceived the reading of this book like having freed and validation of mine just to think. I read a copy of the library of the university, but I mean to buy a copy affinchè my children reads - and in order to refer repeatedly of new. It is a job timeless.
